Toners,Astringents & Hydrosols

 

Toners and astringents are a fabulous ally for glowing skin. Toners provide a gentle way to balance the pH of your skin while distributing botanical benefits, including refining pores. Astringents are a bit stronger and can be especially useful for those who wear makeup and sunscreen. How do you know which type of product you need? Wash your face and then apply a toner or astringent to an organic cotton pad or a hemp round. Gently wipe your face and take a look at the pad. If there’s dirt or makeup on it, note the product that removed the most residue and include it in your beauty routine.

Pure plant medicine applied to the skin is a time-honored way to heal, rejuvenate, and repair it. FACIAL CREAMS

 

Facial Creams are essential for delivering nutrients, minimizing wrinkles, locking in moisture, improving the surface appearance of the skin, supporting skin elasticity, and preparing for the smooth application of makeup. Facial creams can be layered with hydrosols and facial oils. Some skin types benefit from rotating different types of creams; in this case, buying small amounts of bulk products can really be an asset.

 

For best results, wash your hands before dipping your fingers into your cream; our formulas contain many organic ingredients and a minimum of preservatives. Make sure your skin has been thoroughly cleansed before application to ensure that your creams penetrate adequately. It is common to use more facial cream in dry, cold conditions. Living at high altitude can also create the need for extra emollients. Nevertheless, you probably need to apply less than you think: dot the cream evenly on the various areas of the face and neck and then lightly work it in. If your face looks greasy, you’ve used too much. It’s that simple!

Carrier Oils

Altitude, neglect, sun exposure, and pollution can create challenges for skin health. Luckily, we love a challenge! For several years we studied and tested a variety of therapeutic carrier oils in order to bring you a collection that serves a broad range of needs, curated from the purest sources. They are all organic and preservative-free. These top-quality oils must be stored in clean glass bottles.

 

Carrier oils can be used on their own or blended with essential oils. Most of our oils are emollient, slowing down water loss, softening the skin, and minimizing fine lines; some are occlusive, creating a heavy barrier that traps moisture in. Skin type and season are important determinants for your oil selections; take the time to consider the benefits, weight, and texture of each oil. You’ll have the option to combine carrier oils with our stellar array of proprietary Essential Oil Blends (see below). Choose carefully–custom blends can not be exchanged or returned.

 

Apricot (organic)- Lightweight oil similar to almond oil that improves skin tone; reduces fine lines and wrinkles; minimizes dark circles; offers a layer of minimal sun protection (not a replacement for sunscreen. Great for sensitive skin. Vitamins C & A work together on this one. Patch test for nut allergy.

Argan (organic)- Medium-weight oil, rich source of vitamins E and A, linoleic acid, & omega 3's; softens dry patches on skin, supports acne-prone skin; great as a  hair thickener—try it on lashes and brows.

ESSENTIAL OIL BLENDS

Essential Oils are obtained through the distillation or extraction of plant materials. Their potency requires them to be mixed with carrier oils. Our collection represents the highest quality organic essential oils available. Oils must be stored in clean, dry glass containers for the very best experience. 

 

We offer six delectable proprietary blends that we formulated with a local perfumer. You can customize the strength of all A la Carte Facial and Body & Bath oils; you can also add them to our pre-packaged blends for aromatic intensification. Test EO Blends with the assistance of a Soap & Supply employee. They are only available as add-ons (not sold separately). Choose carefully-custom blends can not be exchanged or returned.

 

The add-on minimum is .5 ml. A Soap & Supply staff member will guide you through the process.
